Patients in this study had recently undergone surgery or were recovering from severe burns, so their skin was scarred. Researchers found that regular application of rosehip oil helped scars heal faster, and to fade more quickly. oil helped the skin heal more quickly, with notable improvements in skin elasticity and luminosity at the same time. Other research has noted that rosehip oil effectively reduced raised and bumpy scars.
